Nobody walks into a finished house and admires the framing. They look at the reveals, the mitres, the way a door closes and whether the baseboard meets the casing cleanly.
Finish carpentry is the only part of a build the client sees at eye level every day for the next twenty years. It is also the trade with the least room to hide: a framing error can be shimmed, a drywall error can be filled, and a finish error sits there in the light from the window.

It starts at framing
The reason we do all four services is visible here. A finish carpenter arriving at somebody else's framing spends the first days discovering what is out of square and deciding how to disguise it. When the same company framed the building, the finish stage is installing rather than compensating — which is faster, cheaper and looks better.

We walk the finished work with you before calling it done. Anything on your list gets fixed then, not after you have moved in and are trying to get someone to come back.
The trade
What good finish carpentry looks like
The difference between adequate and good in this trade is almost never visible on handover day. It shows up in year three.
Sequence. Work that arrives in the right order costs less than work that has to be undone and redone.
Tolerance. Square, plumb and level are not aspirations — every trade that follows inherits whatever tolerance you accept.
Detailing. The parts nobody photographs, like laps, flashings and fastening, are what decide whether it lasts on this coast.
Honesty. If we find something behind the wall, you hear it with photographs before we carry on.
Do you do finish work on builds you did not frame?
Yes, though expect us to point out anything in the existing structure that will limit the result. We would rather tell you up front than have you wonder why a reveal is uneven.
Can you build custom built-ins?
Yes - shelving, benches, mudroom storage and similar millwork. For full cabinetry we will tell you when a cabinet shop is the better route.
Do you handle the punch list?
Yes. We walk the finished work with you and correct the list before handover rather than after you have moved in.
